FREE KNITTING PATTERN MOSS STITCH COWL
Method:
Cast on/Bind on - 61 stitches in a chunky yarn.
I like to knit the first row as a foundation but you can start the pattern immediately if you prefer.
1st row -
- Slip the first stitch onto your working needle without knitting - this gives a smoother edge.
- Knit 1 stitch then Purl 1 stitch to the last stitch.
- Knit into the back of the last stitch to give a tighter edge.
2nd Row -
- Slip the first stitch onto your working needle without knitting.
- Purl 1 then knit 1 until the last stitch
- Knit into the back of the last stitch.
Continue these two rows until your work measures at least 21 inches or until you have used both balls of yarn.
Sew the ends together - For a smooth edge, sew them together by sewing through only the leading stitch on each edge.
