Use buttons to attach crochet flower
Crochet Flowers are always popular and I adapted this one to use on a lariat flower garland scarf. I made life easy for myself by attaching buttons to the garland and then using the hole in the center of the flower to attach them to the scarf. I wouldn't say it is the easiest flower I have made, it can be a bit fiddly as the spaces can be quite tight - well worth the effort though.

You'll find both UK and US pattern instructions here.

Use any yarn with the appropriated sized hook. This one is made with double knit yarn and a size 4.5 mm hook. This is the perfect project for all those scraps of yarn you have lying around.

Photo instructions for my wagon wheel flower - full written instructions are below the pictures.

Join to 3rd chain stitch of starting chain6 - pull up the loop and remove your hook
This gives you 6 long chain spaces -

Step 4: Put your hook through the post created at the start of the first chain space -  Take up the loop and pull it through the space. It is easier if you fold your work in half  down the back as you pull through, it gives you a clearer idea of where you are going to work now.

Step 5: Double crochet 10 times in that space. Slip stitch in the same space to complete the petal. Pull up the loop and remove hook.  If you want larger petals increase the number of double crochets.

Step 6: Find the next post between chain spaces. Fold the rest of the work down at the back and take up the loop and pull it through the space. 10 x dc and 1 slip stitch.

Continue all the way round.
Finish off by cutting your yarn and pulling the end through the last stitch. Sew in the tails.
