Free Knitting Pattern for Beginners: Eyelash Neckwarm Twist

Easy Knitting Project for Beginner Knitters: Eyelash Neckwarmer with a twist

knitted neckwarmer
garter stitch neckwarmer with eyelash yarn
Make this cosy neck warmer in a couple of hours. It uses only garter stitch but I have given it a twist to make it look fuller when I sewed it up.  Eyelash yarn is wonderfully soft and will snuggle round your neck like a warm hug.

What you need for this eyelash neckwarmer

1 ball of eyelash yarn this uses King Cole. 50g ball.
4mm knitting needles
yarn needle for finishing
scissors

Method to knit this neckwarmer

  1. Cast on 25 stitches -
  2. EVERY ROW = slip first stitch off left-hand needle onto right-hand needle, knit to the last stitch, knit into the back loop of last stitch.
  3. REPEAT until you have the length you want - my one measures 14 inches from top to bottom.
  4. It doesn't really matter which side you pick, fold your project in half.
  5. Twist the project so you have a right side facing a wrong side - not evident in garter stitch but you know what I mean - just twist it once before you sew the ends together.   The twist gives it a fuller look.

If you know how to cast on stitches, how to knit a garter stitch and how to cast off stitches there are a huge number of projects you can produce. Here are just a few of them.

Don't believe me? Look at these: each of these use only the skills you have already learned and they are only the beginning.

For larger projects you just need to add more stitches. I'll post specific knitting patterns for these two cowls in another post.
